HUMANITY CARE’S WORK FOR CLEAN WATER
THE LIFESAVING WATER AND LIFE-CHANGING PROGRAMS TO HELP:

  • People with safe, clean water, especially during the disaster times
  • Schools learn the link between water and education, hygiene and sanitation
  • Families increase access to water through pumps, storage containers and wells
  • Governments to improve their water policy, garbage collection and waste management
  • Farmers learn how to use water efficiently for livestock rearing and for irrigation
  • Marginalized groups learn about their legal rights to access and use water in a properly manner
  • And much more to learn

Having access to basic clean water and a decent toilet saves thousands of children’s lives, also gives to thousands of women a leg up in ensuring a good food supply and earning money. But HUMANITY CARE’s work on water isn’t just about building latrines or digging wells. We work hard and closely with women to lead their communities in changing the real critical local practices like hand washing. We work with the governments to make sure that they have the right long-term political commitment, good policies and are allocating and using efficiently resources for lasting improvements. And we link with wider efforts in critical integrated efforts on education, nutrition and adaptation to climatic shocks.

HUMANITY CARE places emphasis on women in all of our work about water. That’s because the women are excluded from the organizations who are making the decisions regarding water’s management and water allocation. HUMANITY CARE provides women with equal decision-making power by including them in discussions on sanitation and water on the local, municipal and governmental levels. Women have more time for income-generating projects and school in this way when they aren’t spending a lot of hours each day hauling water. Access to clean and safe water results in women spending less time caring for their family members who would otherwise fall sick due to unsafe water. Also, improved sanitation can keep a girl in school by making facilities available to her when she reaches puberty and further this period of her life.

In conclusion we are making life better for women and for their family through their integration in the decision makers for the sanitation and clean water. In this way we are helping the progress of the entire society through our sustainable projects.

Of course you can be proud to be a valuable part of those projects by making a donation!
